Black Creek Health Centre - Community Health Ambassadors

Black Creek CHC – Community Health Ambassadors

A grassroots doc-style piece capturing the impact of Black Creek Community Health Centre’s Health Ambassador Program, a hyper-local initiative aimed at building trust, sharing resources, and breaking down barriers to care in underserved communities. This project put community voices at the center and gave visibility to work that often goes unseen but is vital to public health.

❌ The Problem

Black Creek CHC needed a way to document and elevate the work of their Community Health Ambassadors,  everyday residents who were trained to support vaccine education, combat misinformation, and promote well-being during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. The challenge? Capture the authenticity and cultural nuance of this work without turning it into a dry institutional message.

✅ The Solution

We took a lean documentary approach, on-location interviews, real-time B-roll, and minimal intrusion, allowing the ambassadors to tell their own stories. Our goal was to create a narrative that felt grounded, honest, and reflective of the community itself. The focus was on connection over polish: sharing why this work matters from the people who lived it.

“ This project reminded me why we do what we do,  because storytelling is about amplifying their voice, not ours. The Health Ambassadors weren’t just spokespeople — they were the message. We just helped hold the mic.“

📈 The Result

The video became a core storytelling tool for Black Creek CHC, used in public presentations, funding conversations, and community events to demonstrate both impact and approach. It helped stakeholders grasp the value of hyper-local leadership, while giving the ambassadors something tangible to be proud of, their stories, captured and shared with care.
